Netsmart has acquired an established player in the health care industry that will help accelerate its technology roadmap.
The Overland Park-based health IT provider snapped up Remarkable Health, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based company founded in 1990 that specializes in artificial intelligence technology and software solutions for behavioral health, substance use and human services organizations. Financial details were not disclosed.
Netsmart was drawn to Remarkable Health’s virtual clinical documentation technology for behavioral health and human services organizations. Called Bells, the technology uses AI and natural language processing to help clinical staff more efficiently create progress notes that are regulation compliant. It can help staff reduce clinical documentation time by nearly 50%, which allows them to spend more time with patients, he said.
The acquisition also comes with Remarkable Health’s EHR platform, which brings more than 100 provider clients to Netsmart and the opportunity to extend Netsmart’s other tech solutions to them.
Beyond the technology, Remarkable Health’s attraction factor was elevated by its 40 employees, who bring expertise and a passion for the intersection of technology and behavioral health care, Strocchia said. Companywide, Netsmart employs more than 2,400 people.
