John's Landscaping is a smaller business with a longer season and spring is definitely its game. John Schleicher, owner and sole proprietor, starts when the weather first breaks in March or April and never looks back 'til the lawns are dormant. He does landscape design, installation and maintenance and has ever since he graduated with a degree from Kansas State in landscape and horticulture design in 1983. His interest began in high school and college when he worked for Rosehill Gardens, loved it, and decided to do it for himself. He says he feels like he's always behind and the days are long gone when he'd go talk to a new (or very established) homeowner and could say he'd be out next week to do the work. Now his customers say they'll wait for him, whenever he can get there. He maintains more than twenty premier residential estates on a consistent basis and two corporate locations including the Prairie Village islands.
