Timothy S. Webster

Times have never been better at American Italian Pasta Company as it comes off a record third quarter for earnings with Tim Webster’s firm hand on the keel and steering the pasta manufacturer further into profitable waters. Webster joined the company as its chief financial officer in 1989 after two years of consulting AIPC as an Ernst & Young employee. By 1991 Webster had stepped up to guide the company as its president and CEO.

Along with the leadership of Chairman Horst Schroeder, Webster has helped AIPC’s sales and operating profits grow by a 30 percent compound rate in the last 10 years. Gross revenues for 2001 topped $310.7 million dollars. Investments in three state-of-the-art production facilities in the nation, and one in Italy, has also been added to its list of profitable successes. AIPC products continue to appear on more and more grocer’s shelves as seven Borden brands were acquired last year and a long-term supply agreement with General Mills was signed this last quarter.

Eager to keep a good thing going, American Italian was also happy to announce in July that it had extended its employment agreement with Webster through 2005. The company truly has thrived under his direction as he has helped foster a strong management staff. Webster has been described as having outstanding leadership and inspirational abilities which inspires his team to exceed even their own goals.

AIPC is not the only organization benefiting from Webster’s abilities, he is also the vice chairman of the National Pasta Association and a member of the Clay County Economic Development Council, KCADC, American Institute of CPAs, Young Presidents’ Organi-zation, Country Club Christian Church and is a director of the American Century Mutual Fund and Students in Free Enterprise.

In meeting Webster think twice about a handshake, as it seems that this Kansas City player’s touch is gold.
