PETER DUNN
The 37 year-old Dunn works as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for PAYDATA in Mission.
The University of Missouri grad “married a wonderful wife in 1990,” and this he considers his
top accomplishment. A decade later, he and Cindy now have four children. But then again Dunn
has always accomplished much and done it quickly. He was the top fundraiser for the
Groundhog Run in 1988. He was the youngest Success Motivation Institute franchisee to
achieve a top 2% ranking. He was the World Motivator Award recipient in 1999 out of 800
franchisees worldwide. And now he serves as Chairman of the Board for the Don Bosco Centers.
“My mission,” says Dunn, “is to passionately and positively impact the lives of others.”
Each week he commits 4-6 hours to charitable causes above and beyond his own family. Peter,
Cindy and their children now live in Leawood.

TONY GONZALES
The youngest of our nominees at 25, Gonzalez may also be the best known. He has already made
his way to the Pro Bowl, the first tight end in Chiefs’ history to make it. A prep sensation at
Huntington Beach High School in California, he shared Orange High School Athlete of the Year
honors with a young golfer name of Tiger Woods. He was an All-American at the University of
California and has been an all-everything in Kansas City. In 1998, he formed the Tony Gonzalez
Foundation which supports the Boys and Girls Clubs as well the Shadow Buddies, a program that
provides smiling dolls to sick children to speed their recovery. Gonzalez is the only NFL
player to have his own personalized Shadow Buddy. He also served as the Chiefs’ spokesman for
the United Way last year and served as spokesman for a host of other causes, including the
Midwest Donor Organ Bank.

JOHN HANAHAN
A born entrepreneur—thanks in no small part to a “wonderful mom and dad” who kept him on the
“straight and narrow”--Hanahan, 34, was making serious money running his own lawn services
company from 8th grade on. He got a business degree from KU, an MBA from Rockhurst, and soon
thereafter bought a class B membership at the Kansas City Board of Trade. In 1994, still
just 27, Hanahan launched Yukon Capital Management Inc. to provide fee-based investment advice
to wealthy individuals. The company has evolved into an “investment boutique” that works with a
select clientele. Hanahan is also a member of the Bi-State Investment Group, a local venture
capital fund with the happy acronym of BIG. In June, barring the unforeseen, Hanahan will marry
“a wonderful girl who also grew up in the Blue Valley area,” and he hopes to start a family soon
thereafter.
