Tour de Hope

Sunday May 6, 2018 • 7:30AM • Liberty Memorial • Varies

7:30AM

TOUR de HOPE 2018 will follow similar routes as TDH2014/15.  We will again launch from the beautiful Liberty Memorial; showcasing four different routes with two of them featuring King Of the Mountain options.  No matter your skill level, we have a route for you!

TOUR de HOPE 2014 was nothing less than spectacular.  The Hope Center once again was the impetus behind TOUR de HOPE.  We changed our starting location to The Liberty Memorial.  The ride took you to numerous places of interest in the Greater Kansas City area.  The King of the Mountain (KOM) course was tweaked to offer those who like to punish themselves more pain and misery.  The after party was everything you have come to expect from the creators of TOUR de HOPE.

Showcasing the Hope Center became a priority.  All routes had their first SAG at the Hope Center.  We encouraged everyone to refuel themselves at this stop; The Hope Center is an amazing charity that the local community desperately needed. This stop gave you a glimpse of their impact on this neighborhood.

In order to allow every route to experience the Hope Center, we changed our starting location to one of Kansas City’s jewels:  The Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri located just west of Main Street on 26th Street.  We began our ride in the circle drive of this beautiful structure that houses the only World War I museum in the country.

Kansas City is a diverse Midwestern city.  Our ride will take you to multiple points of interest.  Immediately upon leaving The Liberty Memorial our ride will take you past Kansas City’s Union Station.  From there you will experience the Jazz district and scenic Cliff Drive (if you have never ridden this section of Kansas City, you are in for a treat).  Depending upon your choice of distance, this is just the beginning. On the longer routes you will experience Swope Park which is the largest park in the metro area and one of Kansas City’s prize jewels.  Then it is on to Blue River Road, another biker’s paradise; if you are a cyclist, this road is one you should experience.  We take you out south to Martin City, west over to Kansas passing through Leawood, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Mission, and Kansas City, Kansas.  Then it is back to Missouri and home.
