As one of Greater Kansas City’s largest and longest-tenured 5K/1 Mile run-walk events, and as the signature fundraiser for the local Susan G. Komen affiliate, Race for the Cure fundraising has helped contribute investments of more than $20 million in local community breast health programs in its 17-county service area as well as research throughout the nation. Last year alone, Komen Kansas City committed more than $1 million to support education, awareness, treatment, screening, advocacy and research (most funded by proceeds from Race for the Cure).
