Retail Sales and Producer Prices Both Up in September



The prices producers pay to make their products edged up a bit in September, according to the United States Department of Labor. The Producer Price Index rose 0.3 percent in September, seasonally adjusted, bringing the total rise in producer prices over the past 12 months to 0.7 percent.

Over at the United States Department of Commerce, the Census Bureau is reporting a 0.6 percent rise in retail sales for September, a comeback from their 0.2 percent decline in August.
