Paragon Star Breaks Ground in Lee’s Summit

This morning, after months of planning and approvals, the recreation, entertainment and soccer complex project known as Paragon Star broke ground at the intersection of I-470 and View High Drive in Lee’s Summit.

The 130-acre, $400-plus million development has been planned to include 10 artificial-turf multi-sport fields (each meeting FIFA regulations for soccer), a 220-unit upscale multifamily residential project, a Class-A office building weighing in at 90-thousand square feet, a 120-unit hotel, 79-thousand square feet of entertainment, dining and boutique shopping, plus various and trails, parks and trail head facilities.

Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. said that the county is happy about working with Paragon in creating a new and attractive destination, “The planned trail and trail head at the site, as well as the new recreational and commercial opportunities,” he said, “will not only be enjoyed by Jackson County residents, but thousands of other area residents and tourists.”

“This project has defined the concept of public-private partnerships,” according to William Brown, project coordinator for Paragon Star, “This project benefits an entire region and we are excited to engage a wide range of residents, soccer families and tourists.”

Developers intend to open the soccer complex for play in Spring 2018.
