Missouri’s Department of Economic Development released seasonally adjusted data today, saying the state’s nonfarm payroll employment grew by 6,700 jobs in September.
The largest private-industry employment growth for the month occurred in health care & social assistance (+2,400 jobs), followed by educational services (+1,700 jobs), and finance & insurance (+1,500 jobs).
Missouri’s unemployment rate for the month was 5.2 percent, according to the data released.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the national unemployment rate at 5.0 percent.
