Mayor Sly James Announces Appointments

Kansas City mayor, Sly James, made two appointments today.

Jason Parson, President of Parson & Associates, a public relations firm, has been appointed to the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Commission, which enables future real property taxes and other taxes generated by new development to be reinvested for the construction of public infrastructure and other improvements.

Ronnie Criss, currently a business representative for the St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council, will join the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority (PIEA) Board of Commissioners in encouraging investment in blight removal within the geographic boundaries of a specified Plan Area.

PIEA staff and the Board of Commissioners will review project plans for conformance with the General Development Plan, including building use and design elements appropriate to the surrounding neighborhoods.

Parson and Criss are succeeding Jennifer Dameron and Bonnie Sue Cooper in their respective appointments.
