The founders of RED Brokerage, a 14-year-old Kansas City commercial realty specialist, have sold the firm to an equity investment partner, Mariner Real Estate Management, and several senior RED Brokerage officials, the new owners announced this morning. They also said that the firm would rebrand as AREA Real Estate Advisors. 

The firm was founded by Dan Lowe and Mike Helmuth, and specialized in developing lifestyle retail centers like the Legends Outlets mall in Wyandotte County’s Village West, as well as in other states. AREA Real Estate Advisors will be jointly led by Matt Vaupell and Tim Schaffer.
